Awareness brings realisation.
Realisation brings improvement.

Awareness comes from comparison and criticisms.
Comparison comes from an internal judgment; criticisms are given by external parties.
Criticisms may at times sound harsh, but they do at times carry gems of truth.

Barry, why are you contradicting your own statement?

It was you who earlier asked me to address my real identity in this forum n now you claim you have no interest to know who I am. I can't really understand which statement of yours are the main point, contradicting!!

For your info, I've absolute no interest in you as well.

Also just to put across a simple message to you. The one who are the young monk are no one other than yourself. You simply just cannot accept S'poreans being criticise for some of their ugly side n actions.

Yes, Hkers have bad habit as well but when it's being mentioned, they agreed n not like you keep trying to side-stepped n argue as if such ugly side of S'poreans does not exist in SG.

Remember this, you can lie to everybody but not yourself. S'poreans can claimed how classy there are but only for foreigners to justify.

Yes, I'm not residing in SG but I do visit SG once in a while. Being borned n raised in SG n movin out of SG after my NS, I think I have every rights to compare the pros n cons in every area.

Lastly, you seemly don't understand what is insult n what is comparision. Can one insult another if such actions are not being done or seen in SG?? Or is it you're just simply jumping to your countrymen defence blindly.

Your words n statement really seems to me that you are very bothered n can't put down the burden of S'poreans being criticised.

huh? i just defencing myself cause i am a singaporean your sentence do not put some ugly singaporean. your word did affect many people that is innocent in singapore

i am a singaporean i didn't claimed how classy i am. you like keep assuming say ugly singaporean , but half of popluation is not pure breed singaporean in singapore also. what you see it maybe not what you think, what you hear maybe not the truth why you keep assuming? there is so many ugly singaporean?

maybe you should change the topic to Ugly sign of some singaporean and that didn't bother me so much

Below is a list of circumstances that maybe show the ugly side of Singaporeans to the rest of the world.

1. Reserving a seat with a packet of tissues (boliaoman : SGP land is scarce, canteen smaller than expected crowd, situational issue)

2. Driving a luxury car (Benz or BMW) but trying to rescape ERP or CBD for the last 15mins of peak hour (boliaoman : Most probably they don't want Govt to earn too much money)

3. Talking loudly when travelling overseas (boliaoman : Did you mistake china chinese for a Singapore chinese)

4. Complaining too much just for the sake of it (boliaoman : That's how we build Singapore since independance...hurray!!)

5. Afraid to lose out mentality (boliaoman : Constantly using your brain will help prevent "lao nian chi dai zhen")

Above are just some points of the ugly side of Singaporeans. Anyone can add on if you can think of something new.

Barry, you're a S'poreans likewise I'm borned n raised in SG as well. My birth certificate clearly states that borned in SG.

Assumed? Are you saying that I've not lived in SG n have not mingled with any S'poreans n do not understand S'poreans lifestyle n tried to assume??

I took up my education in SG in those neighbourhood school. I reside in SG for almost 21years before moving out. Those points that I've mentioned do you dared to say it does not exist in SG even now?

I've said earlier, being borned n raised in SG n residing in another city now shows me a very clear view of SG.

Barry, do you know why so many Singaporeans failed when they ventured to China. The reason is simple, cause many Singapreans think too highly of themselves just like you.

Also, I would like to kindly remind you of this. My mentor taught me when i received my brain-washing in HK. "Truth are always unbearable n hard to absord"

Barry Kiddy, first of all a brain-washed is not to wash away your memories like what you think so childishly.

A brain-wash here refers to that the biz skills n tactic in-order to succeed or make it in China. Why does HKers or Taiwanese are more successful than S'poreans during their venture in China is purely down to mentality.

So if you don't understand, please don't "ASSUMED"!

I don't like to take TVs shows or episode to compare but rather i like to take real life scenario for comparision. Also I would remind you that comparision have nothing to do with kindness, anyway good try.

Till now you Barry are not able to answer me whether all this points that I've posted does it still exist in Sg but rather you keep using different words to side-step your arguement out of your way.

If my mentor will to have a disciple like you, I think he would have not even bother to take a second look at you in the 1st place cause you are just someone who's cowardly not able to face the truth n fact.

In a forum when we talk about a topic, we have to be more general rather than specific. SG have a current population of close to 5 millions n do you expect me to be so specific n list down who does all this ugly actions n who doesn't? Ridiculous n childish of you.

answer you , yes indeed it still exist

so who are you to judge? you are just a another runway from singapore and pretend you still concern. and you saying more general then specific do you have the amount? is only what you see. hiya example i put fourms korean is rude but cause i travel to korean and this portion of people is rude does this mean korean people is rude? i go hongkong this portion of ppl in hongkong fart on the lift does this mean all hker like to fart in the lift?

i dun care you have what holder or etc or street fight , maybe you are lucky hold 7.5k and get ur venture does this mean everyone is lucky as well? so don't cause of yourself and make all ppl react the same

or should i make a topic ugly hker?
Fart in lift
Quarrel on the street
pee on void deck
molest on train?
steal cab from handicapped or pregrant ppl

what if a hongkong ppl see this and he didn't do all this?

what i mean your topic there is good and bad as well , good yes some ppl would guilt from what they act , but some don't some found the country already like that every doing the same what is make a diff i do it also. and i say quite many time, if this topic is ugly side of some singaporean it didn't bother me at all. but your topic is 1 stick hit a row of boat. when other see would only think all singaporean is like that.

Kid Barry,

Like my earlier reply have answer you that "YES", there's ugly sign of people in every city around the whole world but HKers dare to admit n not just defend their actions because they belong to the city itself.

Even TVs show or radio station in HK comment frequently on the behaviour of HKers but they dare to admit.

Now, I would like to ask you if you walk into any neighbourhood hawker center or food court at Orchard Road or Suntec City n still see such ugly actions so common, can you claim it is only "some"??

We are talking about a topic which is commonly seen in SG n not occasionally n how do you expect me to claim "some or be specific" when such ugly actions can be seen daily in SG.

Fart in lift, quarrel along the streets, molest on the train, rushing for cabs along the streets are also happening in SG but I didn't brought this topic up because is not common. We are talking about a common sign here which can be seen daily in SG.

If you have a topic on HKers or Koreans that you think is happening daily you can jolly-well start a thread for discussion as well, no one is stopping you.

Lastly, like i say I've no intention neither do i've the interest to tell you who I am cause my bank account wouldn't grow by doing this. I answered you how my inital experience to HK was to reply your statement of assuming that I'm borned with a silver spoon.

Barry, please be more responsible about your statement n reply. When I reply you is not to show off to you anything but just to rebut your kiddy childish statement which you keep ASSUMING so much.

On the topic of the tissue...

Actually it's an ingenious system busy office workers derived to have their lunch... and a seat.

I don't understand why people think it's "ugly" behavior. It's just a way to get your food and get going, so that other people will have a seat. Overall, it's higher turnover and so other people get a chance to sit.
